We are pleased to share that our Chamber member InvestKL, achieved a remarkable milestone in 2023, attracting a record-breaking RM8.7 billion in foreign direct investments (FDI), marking a substantial 300% increase from the previous year!
Since its establishment in 2011, the agency has accumulated a total of RM29.79 billion in investments, with 66% materializing, resulting in over 27,000 executive jobs. Notably, 74% of these positions are currently filled, offering Malaysians an average monthly income exceeding RM14,000.
The FDI influx was led by twelve major global corporations from the Americas, Europe, and Asia, contributing to the creation of 8,329 high-skilled jobs, particularly in the digital and technology sectors, representing a significant boost from the previous year.
