We are delighted to announce that Italcham Malaysia proudly participated in the 33rd World Convention of the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad, held from June 22-25, 2024, in Brescia, Italy! Representing our Chamber at this prestigious event were Italcham’s President, Mr. Michele Dossi, Secretary General, Ms. Erika Angelozzi, and Operations Manager, Ms. Sue Anne Choo.
Day 1 Highlights (June 22, 2024):
The Convention, organized by Assocamerestero, kicked off with a warm reception and welcoming remarks from key figures including Mr. Roberto Saccone, President of the Chamber of Commerce in Brescia, Mr. Mario Pozza, President of Assocamerestero, and Mr. Domenico Mauriello, Secretary General of Assocamerestero. The day featured various Area Meetings, with our Chamber participating in the Asia, South Africa, and Oceania Meeting, where we engaged in fruitful discussions on sustainability, best practices for Chambers , and innovative business initiatives.
Day 2 Highlights (June 23, 2024):
The week continued with a productive morning meeting local representatives from Brescia. This included discussions with Confindustria, Confapi, and exploring collaboration opportunities with the Università degli Studi di Brescia and the “MADE FILM FESTIVAL Project” for the Chambers of Commerce of Bergamo and Brescia.
The day also featured the Assembly of Delegates of the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad (CCIE), themed “Towards the redefinition of the mission and organization of the CCIE network in the new economic and institutional scenario.” The session was introduced by Mario Pozza and included insightful discussions with key Italian representatives.
The day concluded with an internal workshop with the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, followed by a gala dinner that provided excellent networking opportunities.
Day 3 Highlights (June 24, 2024):
The third day began with a compelling session on “Sustainability is Competitiveness: For a new positioning of Italian companies in the world,” moderated by Mr. Riccardo Venchiarutti, and featuring notable speakers including Prof. Claudio Teodori and Nobel Laureate Prof. Robert Engle. The session culminated in a roundtable discussion on sustainability as a competitive tool, with speakers from various international Chambers of Commerce. The afternoon was dedicated to exploring potential business opportunities in Malaysia with Italian companies from diverse sectors such as home appliances, architecture and design, manufacturing, gastronomy, and agriculture.
Day 4 Highlights (June 25, 2024):
The final day was dedicated to engaging with local businesses in Brescia, aiming to explore how Italcham Malaysia can facilitate business connections and identify market opportunities for Italian companies in Malaysia. We concluded the convention with a strong commitment to fostering bilateral ties and mutually beneficial relationships.
