34th World Convention of Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad in Cosenza, Italy

Cosenza, Italy | June 21–23, 2025

We are delighted to announce that Italcham Malaysia proudly participated in the 34th World Convention of the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad, held from June 21 to 23, 2025, in Cosenza, Italy.

Representing our Chamber at this prestigious international gathering was Managing Director Ms. Erika Angelozzi, who joined fellow delegates from across the global Italian chamber network for three days of institutional dialogue, regional coordination, and international business strategy.

Day 1 Highlights (June 21, 2025)

The Convention opened with parallel meetings for Chamber Presidents and Secretaries General, providing space to align priorities and share best practices. This was followed by a plenary session with remarks from the Hon. Valentino Valentini (Deputy Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy), Mr. Klaus Algieri (President of the Cosenza Chamber of Commerce), Mr. Mario Pozza (President of Assocamerestero), and Mr. Andrea Prete (President of Unioncamere).

In the afternoon, Italcham Malaysia participated in the Area Meeting for Asia, South Africa, and Oceania — focused on regional collaboration and future initiatives.

Day 2 Highlights (June 22, 2025)

The second day featured strategic discussions among Presidents and Secretaries General, followed by an institutional session with Calabrian stakeholders, including Confindustria Calabria, Confartigianato, Confcommercio–FIPE, and others.

The day concluded with a seminar titled “Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad: A Resource for Enhancing the Competitiveness of the Italian System Abroad”. Speakers included senior representatives from Parliament, Simest, MAECI, the Ministry of Enterprises, and regional economic bodies — all highlighting the evolving role of Chambers in global competitiveness.

Day 3 Highlights (June 23, 2025)

The final day of the Convention was marked by significant institutional and business engagements. One of the key highlights was the signing of a strategic agreement between ICE – Italian Trade Agency and Assocamerestero, aimed at reinforcing the international promotion of Italian enterprises worldwide. The agreement was signed by Mr. Matteo Zoppas, President of ICE, and Mr. Mario Pozza, President of Assocamerestero. This important step marks a renewed commitment to the Sistema Italia abroad — a strong signal of collaboration to support Italian companies and the excellence of Made in Italy across global markets.

In the afternoon, the Convention welcomed companies from Cosenza and the wider Calabria region for a round of B2B meetings with Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad — a concrete initiative to connect Calabria’s business potential with international opportunities. Italcham Malaysia was pleased to take part in these exchanges and looks forward to future collaborations to support international expansion.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Assocamerestero, the Chamber of Commerce in Cosenza, and all institutional partners for their warm hospitality and support. We are grateful to have shared this experience with such dedicated colleagues from around the world and remain committed to building bridges between Italy and Malaysia.
